The Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees recognized the Panthers and Employees of the Month at their September 14th Regular Board Meeting.
September 2026 Panthers of the Month
Sergio Gonzalez is a kindergarten student at Faulk Elementary. He is a kind hearted student who is always ready to learn and help others. When it’s time to clean up or transition, he takes the lead without being asked to do so. Sergio encourages his peers to participate. He is a shining star at Faulk elementary and is truly a PAX leader.
Austin Martinez is a 5th grade student at Charlie Marshall. Austin is a wonderful student who consistently shows kindness and respect to everyone around him. He is always checking on his friends and making sure they are doing okay. He is helpful, thoughtful, and willing to lend a hand whenever someone needs it. His caring heart and positive attitude make him a great example for others!
Jesse Aguilar is an 8th grader at A.C. Blunt. Jesse consistently demonstrates responsibility, willingly helps others, and brings positivity to those around him. You can often find Jesse at breakfast helping classmates understand math—proving that learning can happen anywhere! With a kind heart, strong character, and a wonderful sense of humor, Jesse represents what it truly means to be an outstanding Panther. Congratulations!
Garrett Smith is a sophomore at Aransas Pass High School who consistently demonstrates what it means to lead with Purpose, Passion, and Pride. Garrett is an intelligent, hardworking student who excels academically, but what truly sets him apart is the way he treats others. Recently, during lunch, Garrett noticed a new student sitting alone. Rather than simply walking by, he took the initiative to go over, introduce himself, and invite the student to sit with him and his friends. That simple act of kindness speaks volumes about his character. He recognized that being new can be difficult and made an intentional effort to ensure another student felt welcomed and included. He demonstrated empathy, leadership, and the understanding that sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference. Garrett is a great example of the kind of Panther we want representing our school. His intelligence is impressive, but his character is what truly makes him exceptional. He reminds us that being a great student is about more than grades—it is about making our school a better place for everyone. Academic excellence, kindness, leadership, and willingness to make others feel welcome, are the reasons why Garrett Smith is Aransas Pass High School’s September Panther of the Month.
September 2026 Employees of the Month
Kimberly Clark is a kindergarten teacher at Faulk Elementary. Mrs. Clark demonstrates resilience, perseverance, compassion, and understanding while giving her very best to our youngest Panthers each and every day.
Teaching our littlest learners takes patience, dedication, and an incredibly big heart—and Mrs. Clark brings all of these qualities to her classroom. Thank you, Mrs. Clark, for all you do for your students and for Faulk Elementary. We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and Faulk simply would not be the same without you!
Elena Martinez is a 3rd grade teacher at Charlie Marshall Elementary. Mrs. Martinez is a teacher who consistently goes above and beyond for her students and team. She comes to PLC prepared and ready to collaborate, always reflecting on how she can improve her practice and better support student learning. She is constantly looking for ways to help her students succeed, and her dedication, hard work, and commitment do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for the positive impact she makes every day!
Deaven Beck is a math teacher and coach at A.C. Blunt Middle School. We are proud to recognize Coach Deaven Beck as our Employee of the Month! He consistently demonstrates a commendable work ethic, maintains a structured and productive classroom, and shows genuine care for his students by closely monitoring their learning and progress. His creative instructional strategies, thoughtful lesson preparation, and diligence in internalizing each lesson reflect his commitment to his students’ learning. Analisia Reyes is the lead custodian at Aransas Pass High School. Her dedication, work ethic, and commitment to Aransas Pass High School make her an invaluable member of our Panther family. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our campus is clean, safe, and ready for our students and staff each day. She takes tremendous pride in her work and never hesitates to step in and take care of whatever needs to be done. Whether it is preparing for a school event, responding to an unexpected need, or simply making sure the campus looks its best, Analisia can always be counted on. What makes her especially deserving of this recognition is not just the work she does, but how she does it. She leads by example, supports her custodial team, and approaches her responsibilities with a positive attitude and genuine pride in our school. Her behind-the-scenes efforts often go unnoticed, but they are essential to creating an environment where our students and staff can learn, work, and thrive. Hilda Elizondo is the APISD Special Education Director. From day one in APISD, Hilda has stepped in ready to work and make a difference. She has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a true team-first attitude to everything she does. Her willingness to listen, collaborate, help others, and do whatever is needed has already made a positive impact on our district. We appreciate her commitment to our students, her support of our staff, and the teamwork she demonstrates each day. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Elizondo as part of the APISD family and are proud to recognize her as our Employee of the Month!
Oscar Hinojosa is an important member of our Maintenance Department. Oscar was named the Maintenance & Transportation Department Employee of the Month in recognition of his outstanding dedication, hard work, and commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning workplace. His reliability, attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to go above and beyond are greatly appreciated, and make a meaningful difference every day.
