The Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees recognized the Panthers and Employees of the Month at their September 8th Regular Board Meeting.
September 2025 Panthers of the Month
Austin Nixon is a kindergarten student at Faulk Elementary. Austin always listens with intent, follows directions, and is ready to learn. Even when the teacher is absent, the substitute teacher cannot help but comment on how he is a model student and a great example for his friends.
Evelyn Ogan is a 4th grader at Charlie Marshall. Evelyn kicked off the very first day of school by surprising her teachers with kind, thoughtful notes. She is always smiling and seems to be surrounded by a bright light. Every morning when she arrives, her love for learning is easy to see, and she continuously shows her Panther PRIDE in the way she learns, leads, and treats others each and every single day.
Jose Rosales is a 7th grader at A.C. Blunt. This year, Jose has demonstrated a renewed focus and determination both in the classroom and on the field. The growth from last year to now has been remarkable—not only in academics, but also in leadership, effort, and perseverance. What sets Jose apart is his willingness to learn, his drive to improve, and his commitment to excellence. Whether tackling challenges in class or giving his best during practices and games, he continues to show that growth comes from hard work and dedication. We couldn’t be more proud of the young man he is becoming and cannot wait to see all that he will achieve this year!
Frankie Santiago is a junior at APHS and is the type of student we all want in our school. As a junior, Frankie is taking on more responsibilities, by becoming a student trainer. He is a leader on and off of the basketball court, and the thing that stands out the most is that he always gives everything he’s got in every situation. He is one of the best basketball players in the Corpus Christi area, but he never shirks a practice, and he never avoids any chance to improve himself. He is constantly trying to get better in everything he does and this is why Frankie Santiago is Aransas Pass High School’s September Panther of the Month.

Glen Hayes serves the students of Aransas Pass High School in several ways. For years he has been a Special Education Inclusion Teacher and the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach with three State Tournament appearances. This year Coach Hayes has taken on yet another role and become an Assistant Principal at the High School. Coach Hayes is willing to do what needs to be done for kids. He is often heard saying, “We are creating strong men and women of Faith, Family, and Community.” His resilience and willingness to serve where needed is why Coach Hayes is Aransas Pass High School’s September Employee of the Month.
Amy Abrego is the district’s PEIMS Coordinator, and she has played a key role in helping this school year get off to a strong start. Amy worked closely with CACOST at the end of last year and throughout the summer to ensure the launch of our new Head Start program was a success, while also managing student enrollment with great care and dedication. We are grateful for Amy’s hard work and are proud to recognize her as the Admin Office Employee of the Month.
